Rituparna joined Global Development Centre in December 2020.
She is a public policy specialist and has a broad range of experience in managing government programmes in her past roles. She has worked with various government departments, designed and implemented flagship programmes aimed at the empowerment and financial inclusion of poor and marginalized communities. She has developed strategies for social and economic development, citizens participation, local governance, and implementation of SDGs in partnership with various multilateral and bilateral agencies like UNDP, World Bank, FCDO (erstwhile DFID), BMGF etc.
She has served as a national resource person for various leading institutions in India, to provide guidance on participatory approach towards inclusive development, gender development, implementation of Street Vendors Act, 2014, etc. She has also worked extensively in remote pockets of India and led numerous large-scale innovative social development initiatives in Livelihood, Nutrition and Health, Education, and Women Empowerment. She is proficient in overseeing programme design, planning and operations, partnerships, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, organisational development, human resources and resource mobilisation.
She has degrees in English, Development Studies, Public Policy, and Development Communication. She has a flair for creative writing and an inclination towards classical music and musical instruments.
