What We Do

Established at RIS, the GDC aims to contribute to the evolving alternative development paradigm and analyse the impact of the new trajectories for capturing an in-depth development perspective, which may be globally shared for adoption. In this new narrative on development experiences, leveraging the development of an ecosystem encouraged to study the role and linkage of private and public sectors in India and therest of the world. GDC strives to promote this endeavour by engaging partner institutions like government agencies, think-tanks and civil society organisations in India and other countries. Through this partnership, the core competence and specific sectoral strengths will be mutually identified and promoted for possible replication of successful transformative development initiatives.

  • Connect with partners (Academia, Govt. Bodies, CSOs, Parastatal Bodies) in target nations and identify their development challenges.
  • Identify for promoting indigenous evolving alternative development programmes/flagship missions advocated by India for scalable solutions.
  • Liaising with relevant flagship missions and other institutions implementing development programmes in India.
  • Develop modalities for appropriate emulation in partnering countries.
  • Contribute in upholding the virtues of inclusiveness and sustainability as per SDG mandates.
  • Facilitate co-learning through empirical research, shared skills, best practices, exchange of human resources, etc.
  • Draw expertise and linkages from the experiences of RIS in inter-governmental engagements, collaborations with developing  countries in multilateral negotiations for furthering the objectives of GDC.
  • Foster effective dialogues to forge strong relationship with target nations and partners through various capacity building initiatives,  webinars/workshops, exchange of human resources etc.
  • Develop GDC as a Brand for greater visibility and as centre of excellence across the globe.
  • Develop a new ecosystem on plurality of international development showcasing best practices, innovative approaches and learning from India to intended geographies.
